How to Join CIPS
You can start at any time to study by distance learning through
MCG towards qualifications awarded by CIPS however when
you are ready to sit the official exams set and marked
by CIPS, you need to be a registered Student Member of
CIPS.
Membership normally has to be processed at least two months
before your chosen exam sitting. Please note that
Membership is related to your location, not to your
nationality. So for example if you are Nigerian but
currently located in the UK, it is the UK membership fee
that you will be required to pay.
You can select the correct country and apply for Student
Membership online through the CIPS web site ---here--- [External Link; New window] but you will need a Credit or Debit card to pay the fee online.
The alternative is to download the appropriate hard copy
Membership Application Form from the same web site,
complete it and send it by post to CIPS together with a
Sterling draft or cheque for the membership fee.
Whether you use the online application form or the hard copy
paper version, the information you give must be
complete, clear, legible and accurate as this is the
information which will be used to communicate with you.
Additionally, if you are subsequently awarded a
certificate in recognition of successful study, the name
which appears on the certificate will be copied from
your original application form.
When you join CIPS for the first time you will be required to pay
an initial assessment fee as well as the annual student
membership fee. In subsequent years, you will only be
required to pay the annual student membership fee which
is current at the time.
Current CIPS Membership fees can be viewed ---here---
[External Link; New
Window]
by clicking on the country where
you are located.
When you join, CIPS will send you Membership information
including your unique Membership Number which should be
used on all correspondence and exam enrolments.
